I am posting this with the permission of my wonderful bobbin lace teacher, Karen Hickman. She took a free form lace class with Betty McDonald at the Salado Lace Camp last year. She started out with a picture of a rooster and created this masterpiece right over that picture. The top picture, with Karen, is the rooster before it was framed and the bottom one is framed with a navy blue background and a gray mat. The picture really doesn't do the piece justice.
