The latest in dyeing and stitching...

I'm working on several things at once --- I know, so what else is new--- and was inspired by a fellow SEW clothmate to work in red. I've also been stitching on some of the cloth from the wrapt tree project that will be used on a small child's rocker. The image is from the Nazca Lines in Peru. Encountered something strange with the arashi shibori this week. A section of silk organza would not pick up any dye. The organza is the same I used last week and has been washed and soaked before dyeing. It's almost as if spots of the organza is coated in something that is impenetrable. Anybody else ever encounter this? Here are a few pics.

LOVE your hummingbird! The stitching makes the cloth so inviting! I wanted to reach through the computer screen to touch it! You 9 patch is wonderful. I love your knotted heart in the middle. Is this "HuGGs and KiSSes"? Your arashi shibori is lovely. The right picture reminds me of rippling water in the Caribbean maybe?!

HuGGs!

Hi ! Your Nazca line stitching is a very interesting way to work with your wrapt cloth - sympathetic and mutually enhancing. And I think your heart cloth is very well designed. Appealing in every way. Gilly

Deanna, you've been a busy bee! I like the white on that silk organza, makes it look feathery, like peacock feathers only blue & white. Love the cheer of the red & white and the embroidery . . . well, I can see that Mercury Retrograde isn't getting you down at all!!
