The cloths from the
wrapt tree project showed some staining but they have really been enhanced by over-dying with onion skins. I also did some shibori stitching on a couple of pieces and dropped them in the onion skin dye pot. Was happy with the results especially since the Colorhue dyes do not work on cotton. Some of these pieces will be stitched together to re-upholster a child's antique rocking chair that I've had for quite a while. I'll add some shibori hearts as an embellishment. The heart's were inspired by
Jude in her
Whispering Hearts series. If hearts inspire you, you might want to join us there.

Deanna, you are doing wonderfully with the "shibori dyeing", checked my cloth wrapped on the tree and there is not much color yet, I will leave it there for a while.
thanks, herm. mine was there for 6 months and now that it's dyed, i see more markings than before.
love the circles and the idea of the ready made hole...
thanks, Jude. i'm glad i have a carton of onion skins in my garage. looks like i'll be doing a lot of that type dyeing. i'm hooked on the shibori.
Yes. My mouth dropped open when I saw the circles out of onion dye. I don't know, it just gets better and better around here, Deanna!
I really like the result from the onion skins on the cotton shibori piece...looks aged which I love!
I didnt have much luck with my wrapped piece either, so I might revitalise it with some onion skins too.

You are doing so well with natural dyed Deanna. I did some too and posted it up on silkshibori if you want to have a look - Hugs Nat
Oh those beautiful golds are a bit of sunshine!
These are really gorgeous...the color is wonderful and then when you add in your shibori techniques it just takes the cloth into another realm...I am really enjoying following your blog.
Pooh, still more onion + shibori inspiration - I really have to catch up with this soon...;)
