playing with photoshop....

not much stitching or knitting the past couple of days due to bursitis in my shoulder. feels much better today so maybe i'm back on track.
i stitched these two pieces a few days ago, trying to replicate a vintage sleeve effect with cording and ruching. not for any particular reason. just because i liked the effect. the image of the vintage sleeve is in the upper left hand corner of the first image. i was pleased with the way it turned out. have no idea what i'll do with these samples but i did use them to play a bit in Photoshop Elements. might use those images for some collage work.

manipulated in PE...kind of looks like a skeleton

i did get some knitting done on my coat before my shoulder started acting up. it's slow going...

been knitting in front of the tv at night

and some play in PE

i was going through some bits and pieces of old work and pulled out a few small pieces to play with. some ideas are brewing...

bits and pieces...the ribbon with the British flag was a gift and i love it

hope all of you in the US survived Black Friday. i didn't go anywhere near the stores. it was a cold week but it's warming up in the afternoons so the weather has been pleasant. stay warm and cozy wherever you are.
see you next time.

moment to moment...

2 days ago, my design wall just fell straight down to the floor. it's been hanging on the wall with the heavy sticky back tape for many years. i think i just had too many things pinned to it and it gave way. so now i'm trying to remove all the cloth pieces and find a place for them before i attempt to hang it back up on the wall. one of the heaviest pieces was my magic diaries cloth that i haven't worked on in a long time. i'm thinking that the back of this old chair might be a good place for it when it's finished with some solid colored pillows in front.

magic diaries cloth not yet complete

i've also been emptying one of my scrap baskets just to see what is there. once it's half filled, i lose sight of what's on the bottom.

most of what was in the basket is now somewhat organized into color categories

still more scraps to play with

there were lots of good sized strips that i've started sewing together. i guess another coiled basket will be made with these.

some of you are already into the new year and some of us are just a few hours away......

my goal will be to continue trying to live in the moment

The Star has a face...

The star has a face. It's not the face that was planned but stitching the face on velvet was difficult.

I've decided that this piece, when finished, will be stitched to a pillow. I'm slowly  adding other elements.
I tried some discharging with Soft Scrub. I used a tree punch to make a stencil. I added the discharged trees to a piece that came to be while clearing scraps up from my table. Lots more stitching to be done, especially on the trees.
