Crocheting Bullion stitches and more....

I've tried crocheting bullion stitches many times but found it much too fiddly and time consuming.....but I watched this video this week and it is demonstrated using a latch hook to help ease the stitches off the hook and I've finally been successful with this technique. Thought some of you crocheters might like to try it. The video is here.

Here are the first two I've made. Click on the images for closer views.

Wow, Deanna! I love your tatting and guess you must have been doing it for years? Very pretty. What a lovely idea for your scheesha mirrors. You have been busy. I have been missing your blog posts, I know you are on Instagram but somehow I don't remember to look there. Hope you are having a lovely weekend. All the best, Barbara xx

you have been creative, did not know you could both shuttle and needle tat, love a good josephine knot, I have used some to tie to the handles of all my scissors and find they are now easier to find. The crochet is too complicated for me, the flower looks really good with the bullions.

You have got more fun things going on than a barrel full of monkeys! Love the idea of using the latch hook for the crocheted bullion stitches!!! That is a great idea and one of those, "Now why didn't I think of that!". Still lots of wool work going on here and now looking for a spinning wheel....oh, my!

A lovely array of creative pursuits - thanks for the video link - I'll look at it next. I always love to come and see what you're up to, always something unique; I do love a curious mind.
I've never used shush a mirrors - for some reason they've never really appealed to me, but I do like what you've done here - perhaps because your stitching is in the centre, and this helps to break it up, as opposed to the traditional way I've only ever seen where the stitching is around the perimeter. Regardless, it's lovely work!
