some more knitting...

I finished up a bag I've been knitting on and off for over a year. I thought it would shrink more when felted but since it didn't, I cut off a section and made a little bag as well. They are both lined with a soft pink flannel and have an i-cord handle. I did put a cording within the i-cord so that the handle would not stretch. That little bag might wind up in a giveaway sometime soon.

I've done a bit more work on the leaf scarf. I'm so anxious to get to the berry color in the variegation...maybe another leaf or two...

I finished up a small bobbin lace piece that didn't turn out great and I haven't yet decided how I'll finish it up....maybe a pin cushion.

the gray thread is a silk and stainless steel that's nice to lace with but not easy to stitch with needle and thread.

Karen Ruane has started up the Alchemy class again so I'm back to finishing my family memory album. I'm working on a page of my mom. The picture is of my mom modeling a bathrobe from the time she worked for Matsil Bros. (a bathrobe company) in NYC in the 1930s. I did some line marking on the image...something I learned from Lisa Congdon on Creativebug.com.

Wishing all the moms out there a Happy Mother's Day. Hope it's a great weekend.

You may not believe this, but while knitting last night, I wondered about your leaf scarf….and here it is! Very pretty.

I love that silk wrapped steel but it does have a mind of it's own!

Your busy hands have created some beautiful work this week. Love how the leaf scarf is turning out. Stainless steel and silk...what a combination!?!?
The felted bags look great and it was a good idea to add the cording to the handle.

Oh your leaf knitting is just beautiful, Deanna! (That book is still on my wish list.) The silk/stainless steel lace piece is intriguing, almost like metallic scales. And I love the photo of your mother with the line drawing
-- you must have had a creative surge this past week! :)

(I'm resubmitting this, it kicked back the first time.)

I have just discovered your blog, Deanna. Loved the silk/stainless steel lace and was delighted to find someone making bobbin lace as I have recently got into it myself. I look forward to reading more.

Fabulous projects - the leafy edging on the scarf is wonderful. And I'm really intrigued by silk and stainless steel thread!

Catching up and here is the bag (bags)! Love the idea of putting something through the i-cord for the bag. I am going to remember that for sure. I really liked your idea of a knit bag so I'm working on one (although not with the original tube that I was knitting).
