knit 3, purl 3....and some more ledger pages

finally finished my first hat using a circular needle. i'm feeling more comfortable with the circular needle and have started a second hat that is a bit more complicated...one step at a time.
click on any of the images for a close-up view.

periwinkle blue...my first hat

on to hat #2 with cables

moving along in karen's embroidered ledger class and learning lots of new techniques. here are a few of my new pages:

adding embellishment to a page

and some tissue paper overlay pages:

tissue paper and lace
pattern tissue paper with embellishment and close-up
love using black and white

AND...some of you are familiar with Alabama Chanin and their beautiful clothing. here's an interesting blog post by Rayela Art about a new Alabama Chanin book and a short video.
AND...here's a post by Purl Bee on an Alabama Chanin market bag kit.

The blue hat is very nice, I love the colour, but the white one promises to be even better: cables!
I know very well Alabama Chanin, I wondered more than once if it was a good idea to give myself the book. Thanks for the links I am going to check them now.
Oh, and congratulations for the new pages, I like your experimentation.

Wow, you have been busy! How very nice. :)) I really love circular needles. I only make seams when I have to so use circular needles quite often.

Busy as the bees over at Peggy's! I love your ledger pages. Black and White add so much interest and pop! I learned to use circular needles before double pointed, so I struggle with the later. I hope you are having a relaxing and fun filled weekend.

Wow your busy. I really like using circular needles but it took me a while to getthe hang of them.
Your pages are so interesting, it must be fulfilling to see your ideas come to life in that way.

Well done with being comfortable with circular needles, you'll soon be exploring the myriad ways of using them. Try 4 different colours spaced evenly or unevenly apart, the colours will spiral around as they follow each other.

The blue beanie looks great Deanna. I love using circular needles and hardly use straight needles anymore. Thanks for the link to Purl Bee too - xoxo

I used to knit a lot when my children were small and circular needles filled me with dread.

So much fun, all of it! Circular needles can be very handy...even for back and forth knitting. And Alabama Chanin...I need to explore that some more. Have some vacation time coming up. :)

I love those ledger pages, Deanna. Oh they are just so wonderful. Were there prerequisites for this class of Karen's?

Your blue hat turned out great and cables already for the next? -- you're a natural!
