9 moons, rings, circles...to play with

The wool bundle was still a bit damp this morning but I couldn't wait, so I unbundled and threw it in the dryer for about 40 minutes before washing. Lost practically no color in the wash. I always handwash in hot water. I want all the color that will come out to come out before I start stitching.

The copper pipe left lots of pale green sections and the rusty nails and pennies left nice markings. You can see how the iron in the dye pot (from the tin can dyeings) really darkened the wool that was exposed on the outside.

dark section on bottom was where the wool was exposed to the dyepot

back side...wool closest to copper pipe up at the top

This piece is really nice and soft.

very wonderful color range...amazing how just a little change produces great results. are you still doing the soy milk mordant. these last two cloths, yesterday and today's, are just perfect in themselves. should be a great place for creating new visions. inspiring as always...

The variations are so fine--it's a painting in itself--what a great canvas to begin to work on. I really must get back to dieing, maybe that will get my stitching hand going, Your tin can, copper bundles are inspiring!

Deanna, oh my gosh you are getting some fabulous outcomes! The turtle yesterday and today this beautiful wool. I think both could become stand-alone pieces. You've got the magic touch.

Big sigh. Just beautiful. Are you using old pennies? I've been meaning to sort through my piggy bank for older ones that have more copper.

hi Doris. this one may become a small pouch eventually. i like having things on hand to give as gifts. some of the other silk and cotton pieces, i think, will eventually become a blanket.
