yes, I know...

that the full moon is on the 9th, but it looked full to me so I went with it yesterday. There's some interesting info about the full moon names here.

I played with the image of the moon and the double exposure turned out looking, to me, like the entrance to a tunnel. Do you see the tunnel?

It turned out to be an optical illusion. The tunnel has 2 entry points. One is at the top and one on the side depending on how you manipulate your eyes.
Can you see them both?  Maybe this will help...

same image...2 entry points
This double exposure moon seems perfect for the night sky above the cave section of my magic cloth.

I have spent the whole day sorting and organizing a lifetime collection of threads. I can't ever find the color I'm looking for and I wind up buying something I already have. It was a mess.

just a quarter of it here in a mess

part of it being organized
It's all organized now (didn't take a picture) and just needs labeling. Now to be disciplined to put things back in its place. I feel like I accomplished a lot and I shouldn't have to buy any thread for the rest of my life.

We are on the same wave length. I pulled out all my threads this morning with the goal of organizing it. Of course, company arrived. I think they sense when the house is in total disarray. :) I love looking at all the colors. It is like opening a new box of crayons. Wishing you a fun time with the threads.

i wish i could be that organized with my threads... i try...but to no avail, so have decided that i simply enjoy having a thread nest like jude's and that's that for me!

the moon exercise is intriguing. i like the movement into a tunnel and so forth... what fun!

Happy full moon Deanna and thanks for the link to the moon name. Today is my DGD's birthday Jan. 9th the full moon day. Love how organized your threads are. I need to work on mine too - Love Nat

I love your tunnel moon, how you are integrating it in an ongoing piece--just brilliant--and would I had so much thread to organize--but I don't really need it yet since my stitching is minimal, and when I do, I will know what colors and will enjoy a trip to the store. Meanwhile, perhaps others will enjoy the moon calendar I think I already sent you via email (maybe)--http://moonphases.info/full_moon_calendar_dates.html#Full_Moon_dates_2011

I definitely see your tunnel and I admire you for sorting out your threads......if only I could muster the motivation to do the same....

I feel that way about fabric. If I'm willing to stitch it all together I have enough for at least another 20 years of stitching! Your moon tunnel is a wonderful thing...to travel thorough it would be a magical thing.

Can´t say that I´m able to manipulate my eyes in the proper fashion, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel...;)

Love the moon pic and your thoughts on how you might develop the image further. Love the Rumi quote as well. It's amazing how contemporary his work seems.

Always a pleasure to take a peek at your blog and at the work in various groups in which we've sometimes traveled parallel.

Deanna- Love the moon tunnels. I've always been fascinated by optical illusions. Maybe I should do that with my threads, as I seem to have several Bright Yellows (not a color I use much, so why do I have so much?). However, I really like digging through it, while my mind meanders on what I need. It seems to be a part of my creative process.
Thanks so much for the moon info. I haven't read those names for years! Thanks to Michelle too for all the upcoming dates.

I like your magical moon tunnel optical illusion Deanna, great that you can incorporate it into a project. ...a thread nest! I have one of those.

That is wonderful, the double exposure does look tunnel-like and it makes all kinds of images come to mind!!

I love this technique for organizing, it must feel so good. You are truly an inspiration, Deanna.

Clever tunnel visual manipulation, fascinating isnt it how there are two ways of seeing it.
I like your idea to incorporate the tunnel too into your cloth.

Interesting post about the moon. My threads are very tidy, I can't work with them unless they are. I do have some small thread nests too. Must take a photo one day. It's fun to see how other people work.
