the last of the buttons and a GIVEAWAY...

The button class is over and I loved every minute of it. I know I will be using some of what I've learned on lots of future projects. Here are some images of what I've made since my last post. Click on the images for a close-up view.

an old quilted jacket decorated with toggle buttons and a dorset button embellishment

dorset button earring made from a ring ½" in diameter. there will be a second earring.

ball button

brooch made from a 1 ½" brass ring

And I've decided to do a couple of GIVEAWAYS of the buttons/brooches I've been making.  The first one will be a brooch and some hand dyed scrim.

the brooch measures 1 ½" in diameter and has a pinback. The scrim (not pictured here) will be of the same color.
You just need to leave a comment to enter and the winner will be chosen, by random selection, on November 5th.
I think that if you are the winner and see some of these up close, you will want to sign up for one of Karen's classes. She will be offering more classes after the first of the year.

I was going to say that the ball button was my favourite, then I changed my mind to the brooch and then I realised that I couldn't choose as they're all so pretty.

Wow Deanna, they are lovely, gorgeous, fantastic buttons! I will have to sign up for one of Karen's workshop. Next year is perfect for me. Thanks for letting me know. I love your vest too by the way - Hugs Nat

Hmm, first comment usually does not bode well for the give away, but whatever! I absolutely love your jacket. I zoomed in to look at the beautiful, vintage fabrics. I love the graphic design in them. Your buttons, if Karen needs a poster child for her class, you are it! Your buttons are fabulous! Take care and thanks for the opportunity.

I have been watching a few of you who made buttons and think that next year i would love to have a try at these in Karens class. Your give away looks lovely.

Deanna, every photo is beautiful -- Jane's right, a person can't pick a favorite. The earring is only 1/2 inch! You have some magic fingers is all I can say. xo

You are Buttons Bountiful--Big, beautiful buttons every one! The toggles look complex. My, my, leave a woman alone with her hands and her talents, and just look what erupts!

PS I need to remove myself from the give away drawing this time, as I am recently full with gifts from friends. Next time, maybe. Good luck to all.

Beautiful buttons (and you have had busy fingers!!!). I love Karens blog and have followed her for ages. If things settle down a bit I plan to do one of her workshops next year too.
I would love to put my name in the hat to win your gorgeous giveaway.

Such lovely buttons, thanks for the chance to give one a home. I think the ball buttons would make good end of braid fastenings on small Japanese style bags. Thinks.....
Do you work with a magnifier btw or do you just have great eyes?

Deanna, these are absolutely lovely. I can see so many possibilities and uses for the various types of buttons you produced. I enjoy Karen's blog and would love to try my hand at one of her classes but I'm limited in the funds area so these are a real treat, you're progress and posting from the class. Thank you for sharing.

I have a broach very much like yours in blue, I found it at a car boot stall somewhen as I recall and wear it often, though....at this moment I realise I havent seen it for a while!
It will be in that 'somewhere safe' place........must look for it!
I like your ball button too, great stitching Deanna!
