back to the Magic Cloth...

Now that the button class is over, I'm getting back to some things that have been neglected. I added a couple of new sections to the Magic Cloth.

2 small new sections added to the Magic Cloth.

I have 3 bundles that are almost ready to be revealed. I think I will wait a few more days.

silk velvet, silk linen and silk habotai with eucalyptus leaves around copper pipe

...nice reflection from light through a glass jar...

AND don't forget about the giveaway...HERE. Just leave a comment on the previous post. Winner will be randomly selected on Nov. 5th.

Zowie-whiz bang COLOR! How exciting. I'm so glad you made mention of the gorgeous light reflection. I must get some copper pipe! I bought a copper dish (I think) for $2 at a thrift-just not sure it's copper yet--but I have a tub of oak leaves with a little vinegar soaking--still looks pale. More soon. You are an inspiration.

The Magic Cloth is inspiring and those bundles make me very curious. Learning how to dye is in my wish list.

I like how the reflection mirrors the lines of the string on the bundles - and how there's a strip of light touching the bundles. You are being very patient!

Can't wait to see the bundles opened! It is very gray here so it was nice to see your bright & happy MD cloth! :)

Copper is difficult to find, so it will be exciting to see what you have. Were these left in a solution or out in the weather? The colours in your cloth are sensational.

Ingrid, the copper pipe was bought at the hardware store and cut into smaller sections. 2 of the bundles were simmered in oak leaf liquid and one was just steamed. they were left in the dye pot overnight and then just in an open glass jar in the house.

Hi, Deanna. Your button production is prodigious. And each one is more beautiful than the preceding one. AND I noticed you do bobbin lace--is there anything you don't do???? Looking forward to seeing more of your Magic diary cloth.
best, nadia
