removed the braids from the bottom and did a diagonal weave |
weaving without a foundation over a wooden box. that's a turtle, not a snail. |
nothing is off limits. not even selvages woven in a hoop. |

Now there's an addiction worth having! Love the diagonal weave. it provides a nice base for that first piece.
Hi this is Patti from your Boro class. Wow, I am glad you suggested I look at your blog...I have been lost looking at it for quite awhile now. Love the basket you made, all your different quilts, the weavings throughout the blog, the class you taught, your dye work...wow!!! Very inspiring!
Hey I did that with my clothing that don't fit anymore ha! I love how the top piece turned out. Putting a few more stitches soften a piece quite a lot. Love the color of the second one.
Enjoy

can you tell me about the cloth background
of that first long weaving? It looks
earthy, lots of character.....
hi cristina,
the background fabric you asked about is a linen type fabric that i dyed with onion skins. it is the same fabric that is in the weaving but the one in the weaving was not dyed. it was given to me by a friend.
OH-OH -- I hadn't seen the top piece -- it is absolutely wonderful! It catches a person so you need to go exploring there. Love.
