I taught myself to do entrelac knitting this weekend. Love that woven look. If you want to try it, there is a relatively easy scarf pattern on http://www.knittingdaily.com/ . Here's the direct link if you're already a member there: http://www.knittingdaily.com/media/p/24498.aspx . There is also a video, if you need more help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcLxMt9GehM . The scarf instructions were easy for me to follow. I suggest you try it with a variegated yarn first just to learn how it's done. Hope you will try it and let me know about your experience.

Thanks so much Deanna for the link to the entrelac knitting pattern. I joined up and downloaded the pattern. I hope I can do it. It looks hard!

Looks great! Entrelac has been on my to do list for awhile, since my mother did a sweater that way.
wow Deanna, aren't you clever!! Love the weaving of it and i can't even begin to imagine how it's done.
Hi Deanna! It is Gillian here - I love your knitting. Is it long verisons of cable I wonder? I have some knitting sloooowly on the go. It is a shetland lace scarf. It is so fine and lovely and soft. I took it camping with me recently and sat knitting in the mornings and evenings knitting wrapped up in an old blanket that I got from a thrift store en route. Getting to the age that I really don't care what I must have looked like. Knitting in a campsite!!! Glad you have blog I can visit to keep in contact a bit. G
Hi Gillian,
Don't have your e-mail address so I'm answering you here. It's not anything like making a cable. I've been knitting for years and never encountered instructions like these. Each section is worked separately in tiers. If you download the instructions, you can get an idea of how it's worked.

Hey Deanna- thanks for this. I will send you an email. BTW - the shirt collar on the next post is superb! Did you actually make that too? You are amazing! Gillian
No, Gillian. I did not make the collar. It is an old collar that my mother had and I dyed it pink.
