another class has captured my attention....

I started a new class with Karen Ruane this week....Reinventing the Page....you can find the details here. As usual, it has taken over my attention with all the different forms of paper play that Karen is demonstrating. I started out with inspiration from some fabric I've had for years and some  paper and fabric play from an earlier class.

Lots more experimenting to be done. This is just a start...

I didn't get very far with that hat quilt block I talked about last time....but, I have decided on how the first block will go together. I'm thinking those empty square spots will be white. I haven't cut those out yet.

I'm slowly working on my bobbin lace tree. It's slow going since I only work on it once a week when I go to lace class but I'm happy with the way it's progressing.

The garden is doing well and we are lucky to have been getting some rain so no need for very much watering. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Love the design and where you've repeated it.
Karen's classes are like a city n guilds the way she encourages you to think beyond the norm. Great ideas Deanne.
Will you use white on white patterned for those corners?
The blocks looking good!
And that tree - wow!

your doodling is fascinating and very exciting. I do hope you take this further some time in the future......The lace astounds me, it looks so complicated. You must have amazing skill Deanna...and a good brain to figure it all out.

Ha, lovely to go ón with something of a previous class, and make good use of it in the next one ;-)
Great colours in your lace Deanna !
(just saw some of the finest lace ever from a St&B friend this morning, with the finest thread I've ever seen !!!)

Hi Deanna,
I have been visiting your blog regularly and I love the work you have been stitching, designing and colouring since Karen's classes. Hope you don't mind I have mentioned your blog today in a post on my blog, mainly because of the Suffolk Puffs on the pocket you made but also that pocket was brilliant!
I love your lace projects too and I will be posting a picture of my work soon - not easy to get a picture of the lace - I am just learning to make lace. I love the colour of your lace tree! Barbara. xx

The lace tree looks gorgeous and am loving those little fragments you've created for your repeated design. They're like bits of tile impressed with an ancient unknown language!

I have to smile when I see that hat quilt block. It looks very neat and square compare to the work you are doing now - Hugs Nat

Your designs put me in mind of mosaic tiles - or broken pottery. I think a larger version would be absolutely fabulous printed on fabric!!
