I have caught up with lots of things during this, somewhat free, time in December and the beginning of the new year. My one great accomplishment was learning tambour embroidery. I will show you my progress but I'm also heavy into knitting projects....even though the Downton Abbey coat is not yet finished. Another doll is in the making....

she will be about 18" tall and her dress will be white with a lacy edge... |
A lace friend was wearing a sweater I admired so I decided it would be my next project. I will not start it until the coat is finished....but I am anxious to get it started.

the yarn is wool and bamboo and the color is Jasper... |
....and some images on my tambour work. I have ordered more hooks to do some more experimenting. I like working with the thicker threads but the biggest hook I have is not big enough. I don't think tambour work is meant to be done with thicker threads but I will attempt it nevertheless.

some tambour beading in a tic-tac-toe pattern |

working with sequins....they need to be closer together....more practice needed |

and am attempting a real design with a variegated thread |
It is still too cold here for me but there is a promise of warmer days this week.
Wishing you all a good week.

Those are some gorgeous photos of your tambour work! I love that sweater and the yarn color - is that a Downton Abbey pattern as well?
Warmer days would be wonderful but we can't wish for unreal things - not even mid-January.. Knitting is the best thing to keep fingers warm - I do it with bamboo-needles.
Your tambour work is advancing very well and is looking beautiful. A lace dress for the tall doll - how wonderful - let us see it soon.
Downton Abbey is on again and I assume you are watching....the coat will be a triumph whenever it arrives I'm sure.
Oh Deanna, I love the work with the variegated thread !!!!!!
What fun projects!
cute doll ! will you be knitting the tiny mouse too?
It's exciting to see your tambour embroidery samples.
That "Jasper" is beautiful. So many fun projects Deanna.
Love the new pattern you've chosen, look forward to seeing your progress on that one. You've made quick work on the doll too
the sequins! i need a primer because mine do not look nearly as nice as yours.
you are incredibly productive.
I'm fascinated by the tambour work - looking forward to seeing more of it!
your progress with the Tambour work has me in awe....I do like your new knitting pattern, the wool too.
What lovely work! I have never tried tambour. I love the yarn for your new sweater! We are buried in snow here. It is pretty though.
I wasn't aware that you could use beads with tambour - interesting to see. Your new sweater is going to be beautiful - I love the yarn your chose.
I am SOOOOO impressed with your tambour work. I have a hook and have tried it but am all thumbs and the beads don't stay where I put them. It is one of the tools way back in a drawer. I'd love to take a stab (no pun intended) at it again. How did you learn to do this? A book or video perhaps?
I just wrote a post "getting back to normality" and came over to yours and your wrote one too! Your tambour embroidery is coming along wonderful!
