for my bobbin lace pillow. I've been using a carrier that I quilted many years ago and it is coming apart in places. Several years ago I purchased three small machine made quilts from a local discount store. I think I paid $10 for each of them. I planned on using them to make a cover for my sofa. Well, that never happened. One of them hangs over my sofa for cold winter evenings. I pulled out the second one and cut some panels to make a pouch big enough to hold my lace pillow. I stitched the lining fabric (from my stash) to the quilted cloth, turned it inside out and did the rest of the stitching by hand.

the selvedge of the lining fabric decorates the strap with a blanket stitched edge and the entire pouch has a crocheted edge. |

the ties on the side hold the pillow in place |

a gusset on one side to make inserting the pillow easier |

it measures about 18" x 18" |
I showed you a knitted doll jacket last week and this week, I finished the dress and the hat.

I'm still working on the collar and cuffs made with the lace bits of fabric. Still have a bit more to stitch on the cuffs and then I'll start with the hand embroidery which is my favorite part.

I just started reading an interesting book by
Pam Grout....E2....more convincing evidence that your thoughts are what create your reality. Thought some of you might find it interesting as well. You can read the description and part of the book on Amazon....
HERE.
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

So much better to use quilts that would otherwise be stored away to make something useful.
This turned out great. I really like the light happy feel of the inside fabric. Enjoy using it!
what a good idea for your quilt, very practical, such tiny dolls clothes so cute
I like your pillow bag, a great home for it. Have fun embellishing the lace
crotcheting the edge was an inspired decision Deanna, it finished the bag off beautifully.....that dolly dress is so cute!
Beautiful bag! lovely lining fabric! love the crochet edging and ties. Cute doll clothes ..
It seems that my last couple of comments are once again traveling to other places than here….very fascinated with your boro-lace work. and thinking how fun it must be to make doll clothes.
Super idea. And you are courageous. The little wholecloth green quilt ist really a beauty and very clever to remodel it into something useful which is an eye candy.
That's a delightful bag. I remember just having to use a carrier bag when I did bobbin lace at school...

I love the carrier you made for your lace pillow - such a great idea and so very pretty! I also love your little knitted doll clothes - they reminded me of a some knitted barbie clothes my mom made for me when I was small - such a sweet memory, thank you! I always love seeing what you're up to...
