has it really been one week....

seems like this week just whizzed by. almost 2 whole days were spent clearing out my bookshelves of old books that will be given away...probably donated to the library.
CLICK ON THE IMAGES FOR CLOSE-UPS.
such a good feeling to know that new books coming in will have a spot on the shelf
some more shift work on this cloth to create gears. it's just tacked in place ready for some more bullion knots to form the sprockets. i do love sitting and doing that stitch. it's very meditative. something to do in front of the tv.

this cloth is moving along but not really sure what i'll do next.

remember that mango from a few weeks ago....that shell that looked like a boat. it's here. i just couldn't resist doing something with it, so it's now a little basket. covered it with some free motion stitching i did on cheesecloth, added a handle and filled it with 2 funky puffs.

it measures 3"x2". it might make a good gift tag.

i did work on the white cloth and a pretty long piece is ready to be attached to the large piece with the toile fabric.

added cross stitch, ric-rac, spider web roses and french knots.

must try to find the time to start putting these granny squares together. i really don't know how many more i need.

for a small blanket that will be gifted

we reach close to 100 degrees every day and there hasn't been any rain. hoping for some tomorrow, if the weatherman is correct. have a good week.

You are doing some lovely work but it's difficult when the weather is so intense. I admire you for sticking at it as i think you probably don't use the AC all day long either. Do you have a fan?

I hope you get your rain Deanna. We have lovely weather at the moment, not quite as hot as you but I still sit in the shade when I am outside.

Oh that's what an empty shelf looks like! ;)

I *love* the granny squares -- the yarn looks so soft -- it's like they might float away if you don't keep an eye on them. x

hello and a way overdue visit. i do peek in through the windows just don't stop long enough to have a little chat but today i decide i'm overdue - between my mother's health and my sister's visit i've not had time to do much stitching so it's always a joy to see what you have been turning out...the color of the grannie squares are beautiful and they look as though they will be warming - a fine wool. and the little pouch is so playful - i can't wait to see the plant growing you more "purses." but my favorite has to be the "shift" cloth. the dye is beautiful...to late for me to think of how to spell the word for the pattern - but is has the quality of a slow moving brook - the shift work you are doing is really inspiring me to put some gears on to my circles too. thank you always for your hospitality and lovely work. it's muggy here and too hot for me and we too are hoping for rain...may have to take up chanting to the rain gods...take care - cheers for now.

I like the soft earthy tones of your blanket. We lived in Nebraska one summer...that 100+ every day was so wearing.
