it's been very hot and draining this week. i did do a bit more stitching and experimenting with several things.

i love taking an image and using the filters in Photoshop Elements to change it. this is a lily flower that was in a vase on my kitchen table.
i might attempt doing these with paints someday.
it was 105° yesterday. the early morning hours are so pleasant in the backyard when the sun is first showing its face. i was out early today since it is my watering day.
wishing you all a good week.

The string of hearts is so charming! I don't recall seeing your back yard before...it's lovely :)
yes the garden looks lovely.....wishing you rain in the nicest possible way!!
such pretty stitching Deanna too
Love the lacy first photo...looks cool and refreshing in the midst of such high temperatures...
I like that string of hearts, and I can see that bottom photo of the lily being stitched
Love your white embroidery pieces. I used to played with PE layers effects too, but since the apps for iPhone are making life easy for me I stopped. Sorry to hear you are going through hot summer and water restriction again. Hope rain comes your way soon - Hugs Nat
Deanna,
your white work is exquisite, esp your work with scrim.
Deanna, the floral images are amazing. It would be so interesting to see you interpret those in paint or pen..having said that they stand alone. I was so excited yesterday when you said it was raining!! Can you believe that, we get so much rain here I normally complain but I know how much you crave it.
Oh that B&W puff ball button thingy is divine in the second photo!
Love the whitework cloth with hearts..Are they fly stitch leaves?
The scrim and the whitework embroidery are both beautiful, and probably a better kind of work in the hot climate than gathering your grannies!
105F is really hot!
all you have shared is so beautiful, but the gossamer gauze really touched my heart.
105, I can't even imagine how you move! love that top photo of sweet bubbles and pinks.
Oh, those hearts -- that whole piece is beautiful. Your grass looks so nice and green and I see lush plants climbing trellises? You are doing wonderfully in those high temps! Love the play with the lilly, amazing how it changes. xo
