lots of experimenting...

i'm enjoying using the basket i showed you last time to hold bits and pieces of experiments and things i'm working on.

Karen Ruane's lace class started this week so that is what most of the experimenting and stitching is about right now.  you can see what others in the class are working on over here.

lots more embroidery to be done on this lace piece

a ruffle with a hint of pink

a cross stitched heart hidden beneath
i'm always working on more than one thing at a time so i did spend a bit of evening time with crocheting the edge of an embroidered cloth...

and knitting some more on the felted bag.

on the second ball of yarn...2 more to go

i finally got out into the garden this week and planted mostly flowers but did plant some radishes and lemon cucumbers. never planted the lemon cucumbers before but that's all i could find in the garden center. it's a bit later than usual so i didn't want to do the seeds. another experiment. we had a thunder shower this morning and more promised for this afternoon. saves me from going out and watering the garden.

haven't been getting to as many of your blogs as i usually do and i'm sorry about that. there just aren't enough hours in the day. hope to catch up sometime soon. wishing you all a good weekend.

Experimentation is always fun - and the lace piece is coming along well, I think!

the lace piece looks fabulous in the second picture Deanna and I just love that you are crocheting the edge of the cloth. I can't think of a more pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

Just love that orange floral work and the knitting too. Watching you work is a joy. I was saved from watering too. The Iris are popping now. I'll plant Sunday the new large glorious columbine plant a friend brought Wednesday. Meanwhile I love looking at it.

Love to see you actually using that basket !!!
The lace piece is só beautiful, Karen will be proud (as you yourself of course ;-) !)

The knitting needles look really chunky .... love what the self-striping yarn does !

I love your basket full of experimentation. The lace class - wow!!! I love what the class is creating and your pieces are gorgeous. I was so sad the Alchemy class is postponed. Not that I need more projects. LOL! The bag is going to be so pretty. I love the colors you are using. There is something so nice about a crochet edge - a touch of elegance. Our heat is supposed to break next week. I am hoping I can get some seeds in the ground and the plants in the planting queue in the ground. The tomato is up to 4 inches! Can hardly wait for a little feta, olive, and tomato salad. Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend.

A woman after my own heart with lots of different things going on at once. Me too.
We've got the same cloth, the cut out white flowers. That's a great idea cutting out the centre and working into it with wrapped thread. I will have to have a go at that.

Lemon cucumbers are the one variety I always make sure I plant. I love them. Harvest them when they are a soft yellow/green, before they turn too bright or the skin gets hard though. Your lace inspires me...

Love that yarn for the felted bag. Is it cotton? Reminds me of some cotton that I have. Please show us the bag when you are done!
The crocheted edge...and all of the other white+ work is so beautiful and delicate. Lovely.

You have me thinking of lemon cucumbers! They sound delicious! I made a huge pot of Italian lentil and escrole soup today. Hubby had 3 bowls.. Don't you just love having several projects going at once. Never a dull moment! All of your projects are coming together beautifully. Enjoy your weekend, Deanna!
