moment to moment...

2 days ago, my design wall just fell straight down to the floor. it's been hanging on the wall with the heavy sticky back tape for many years. i think i just had too many things pinned to it and it gave way. so now i'm trying to remove all the cloth pieces and find a place for them before i attempt to hang it back up on the wall. one of the heaviest pieces was my magic diaries cloth that i haven't worked on in a long time. i'm thinking that the back of this old chair might be a good place for it when it's finished with some solid colored pillows in front.

click on the images for close-ups.

magic diaries cloth not yet complete

i've also been emptying one of my scrap baskets just to see what is there. once it's half filled, i lose sight of what's on the bottom.

most of what was in the basket is now somewhat organized into color categories

still more scraps to play with

there were lots of good sized strips that i've started sewing together. i guess another coiled basket will be made with these.

some of you are already into the new year and some of us are just a few hours away......

my goal will be to continue trying to live in the moment

maybe it wasn't the wall but the cloth(s) saying play with me, no with me...trying to get your attention...i've been organizing a little too to see what is hidden in boxes but not reorganizing as much as tiding up. a good thing for the new year and new projects. cheers and happy many new ideas and projects for the new year...xox

we all hanker to organise....me included. It's kind of like a 'nesting'syndrome that happens when you're pregnant. Let's hope we don't have that condition though! Your diaries cloth is magnificent...it deserves to be finished.

Happy new Year. I'm hoping to organize my fabric by color this year. not only will it help me be able to see what
I have, but also, calm my eyes. Love your diary cloth, Jude's classes are such a magical journey. Going to try the chair idea myself.

I can hear your cloths now..."Look at me!" "Notice me!" "Play with me!" ...until they all came tumbling down! Boom!
The Diaries cloth looks quite at home there on the chair.
I love looking over the scrap baskets of others and marvel at the variety of fabrics in the world :)
Wishing you the very best moments in 2013!

You know maybe that chair is MEANT to have a magic cloth covering? The seat and the chair arms could be further phases lol
And lets face it........you just need a larger design board! Fate was giving you a nudge lol

Amazing what we can find at the bottom of a basket or a drawer, sometimes forgotten pieces of fabrics that are real treasures.
