I just had to share this video that was posted on Facebook. Some of us are going back to that 'make do and mend' philosophy for a variety of reasons. For some of us it is important not to fill up the landfills with things that can be mended and reused. And it is a way of being creative by transforming something old into something new and beautiful. For some it is due to the economy and a way to save money. Whatever the reason, I think you'll enjoy this
video that is under 3 minutes.

What I am doing is not original! Great video, thanks Deanna - Hugs Nat
Deanna, that was wonderful! I remember helping my Gram mend. What I wouldn't give for her "rag bag" now! Hope all is well and you are stitching away.
Oh, how I love vintage videos. I used to love the newsreels and cartoons that accompanied the movies of my youth. But this fabulous video, with it's fashions on parade, and that articulate English narration, not to mention the music, is a true gem--and has given me access to so many more gems of that ilk, I'm sure I will be using some in future posts.
Made me giggle...
thanks deanna, screamingly funny esp the end, it made my night.
use it up, make it do, or do without
a very familiar saying in my house
recycling started with my grandparents.
