trying to do it all....

The Sally Doll is finished and I've started on a new one, this time with an abstract intarsia design in pastel colors.

her legs and arms are fabric with cross stitched letters and numbers. her scarf is a bit big for her body.
....and she is reversible....her reverse side is showing a sad face. it wasn't intentional.
reverse side with a checkerboard design.

a new Sally Doll in the works...

I have been practicing my Calligraphy...probably not as much as I wanted to but I'm getting there.

warm up exercises

I couldn't resist starting this crocheted headband last night. I do love the look of this stitch. It reminds me of the knitted linen stitch. I'm halfway done with this so just a quickly done distraction from all the knitting projects in the works. Here's a link to the free instructions, if you'd like to try it.

crocheted headband

I've been playing with walnut ink all morning but I'll save that for next time.....and maybe I'll have some planting done by then as well.
Have a great week.

Planting? Really? Lucky you!! It's snowing here - again. Those calligraphy exercises reminded me of what we had to do in penmanship classes in public school. All done in painstaking preparation to copy out a poem to be entered into the local fair. Methinks all those exercises didn't take because my handwriting is terrible!!

I'm especially fond of the linen stitch so I love this crochet, too! Calligraphy is looking just swell.

The Sally doll is great fun, think having different faces suits it too. There is something special about writing with ink, enjoy your calligraphy

Your doll is a hoot! She is wonderful! A hugging doll. I haven't even started the calligraphy class. Hope to this week. Love the head band. Wow gardening, lucky you!

I love the colours you've chosen for your second doll. And those you're using for the headband, I knit rather than crochet so I'm always in awe when I see someone's crochet. Beautiful calligraphy too♡

Oh the Sally doll is so fun. I love that her knees are letters! The headband is a delight. I like the practice marks you did for the calligraphy. I imagine them in stitch, such a pretty look to them. Have a fun week, Nancy
