that is, working with the 9" circular needle. It's difficult until you get to about 1½" to 2" in and then it gets easier. I'd say it's a bit slower than working with double points because you have to stop occasionally to move the stitches around but I have much more control with the circular and I will persevere.

knitting a sock on a 9" circular needle |
The lace piece I showed you last week has been made into a little pouch (5" x 6") to hold the samples I'm making in Karen's current lace class. There are 2 finished samples and I'm working on a 3rd that I hope to show you next time.

I think I enjoy working on these little lace samples more than anything else. It's a great way to use up small scraps that I can't bear to throw away.
Hope you're all having a good weekend.
Just a note to say that I don't participate in
Google+, so I do not respond to those requests that I've been getting. There are too many other things to keep track of so until I'm forced to, I will not be using it. Thanks for understanding and for wanting me in your group.

Love these little lace samples! And I agree about Google+
the lace pouch & samples are lovely !
Thanks for the report about the circs! As for Google+ - what in the world is with that? I keep getting requests too and haven't a clue what it's all about. The 'delete' button comes in handy!
I love when you list a bunch of stitches and end with "etc." Ha--you have put so much in each 'scrap' it's amazing. As for Google +...I have a few friends who are there and I hardly ever go there to read anything. Too much. Also, I keep getting notice that Flickr will eliminate being able to sign in with Google or Facebook, and advises me to get a Yahoo account! I don't think I have anything on Flickr--do you? It's all about competition and just exhausting.
such very pretty samples, the pouch is wonderful. Good to see you are using the circular needle, I used them when I used to knot and found them good, especially when doing a band on cardigans.
Hallo Deanna, I use circular needles also when the knitting I'd not circular. They are gentler on my shoulders and back, I vow for circular needles and have been using them for many years now.
Your samples are very interesting, I am exploring too the use of paper in embroidery.
Deanna, that lace pouch is beautiful, what a special place to keep your samples
I agree about Google+. Interesting class samples, I like the edges especially. I was wondering how you would like the 9" circular needles...tight working conditions at first.
Deb
you are doing brilliantly with the circular needles Deanna and your lace pieces are exquisite....care and attention and a passion for cloth!! I don't do Google plus either, way too many things to keep track of here too.
Lace pouch is so pretty! Beautiful lace samples.
I do use circular needles for doilies and shawl. Yep, I agree with you..they are better than DPN.
Happy to hear you're having luck with those 9" needles! Your sock is lovely.
And of course, as usual, your embroidery is exquisite!
I can't seem to get out of Google+ unless I totally delete my Google account, which would mean having to start over with Blogger, at least with a new password. Not sure how I got onto Google+, but it is very annoying. I wonder if anyone likes it?
xxoo
Beautiful samples. I think that Google+ sends out invitations on its own initiative. I have no idea what the advantage is but, having a delete button is a distance advantage.
exquisite!
Glad the circulars are working for you. I love them for everything other than socks. The only advantage for me was not losing stitches off the needle on the bus, otherwise double points work fine for me. I especially love the flowers you've stitched on the lace.
I love circular needle to knit everything for many years now. I love your yellow yarns. I'm working with yellow yarns too. Your lace pieces are gorgeous - Hugs Nat
I can see why you like those scraps!
I've had a wonderful meander through all your recent projects and there is so much beautiful and stunning work here and so much that makes me want to explore further!
