a week of computer and printer woes....

I'm hoping I've straightened out all the computer and printer glitches I encountered this week. I know enough to be dangerous but I managed to get things working again....I hope....

these flowers have reproduced themselves more this year than any other year and I've had them for many years. I clean out the bed every few years but lately, it has to be done every year, but they are so pretty and I do love anything pink.

Physostegia-Virginiana also known as Obedient Plant

I finished the Joomchi piece I was working on (Korean Papermaking) but it's hard to get a true picture of what it looks like. It is very fragile and embellished with bits of lace and hand embroidery.

2 sheets of manipulated paper, fme with bits of lace and hand embroidery

I did receive the book Joomchi and Beyond by Jiyoung Chung which explains the Korean paper making process in excellent detail. She has several tutorials in the book and beautiful pictures of some of her work....outstanding images. I am glad that I ordered the book. If it interests you, you can find it at Amazon and at Beyond Above.com. Here are some images of the book.

Wishing you all a great week with the kind of weather you love the most. I'm into rain lately. It is so nourishing for all the plants and we need it so badly here.

I wish I could send you some of OUR rain. It's hard to remember what summer feels like. It's as if it's never going to arrive. And... Korean paper making! you keep going and going...

You know, I think the computer woes were more universal...many folks I know experienced similar, including me, and so it goes. I did check in earlier but got the "no page found" notice...nice it's up now. Joomchi is fascinating and 'YAY' for the rain you need...rain here too, but then bright and clear days...and more rain due. The weather can be counted on to keep us hopping. I LOVE the obedient plant...had a blue one for several years in the church garden.

Pleasantly warm would do me, but I must admit to a preference for blue skies!
The book looks to be full of inspiration for you!

The joomchi is one of my favourites of your work. The book looks interesting too. I'm expecting a couple of books on Indian and Pakistani cloth and embroidery but this joomchi is going on my wishlist as it looks so interesting.

Love your joomchi! What fun you are having!

I used to have Obedient plant at my last house. That name makes me laugh, because as I recall, the plant is anything but obedient!

Thanks for the book review! I have an order ready and will add it on. :) I am like a little squirrel storing up projects for when it is too hot outside. Your paper turned out beautifully. I love Obedient plant. I have a darker rose color. It tends not to flourish here, so it has behaved (not like the asters from Grams or the plume poppy who will take over the yard given the chance.) Have a wonderful week!

It must have been the rain you got lately that made the flowers to reappear again. That Joomchi piece looks fascinating, but my eyes are drawn to the quilt behind it!

Deanna, I have great sympathy for your computer problems. As you know, I still have glitches that need an entire Geek Squad to fix, I think. Your finished piece is exquisite. xx
