in organization mode here but only with things white...i've always loved white and have lots of bits and pieces of things that needed some organization and deconstructing. in the past couple of years i have been very influenced by Karen Ruane's stitching. she works almost exclusively in white. she posted a ruffle/flounce yesterday...you can see it
here...that sent me rummaging through my stash. i found one that is from an old wedding dress gifted to me by a friend. it was not in great condition and needed some mending. i think i will be able to use it for what i have planned.

white cloth and old garments that need deconstructing |

mending a white ruffle...will add some tatting to the band |
i also did some crocheting in white over some lace made with cheesecloth and free motion embroidery.
|
the crochet was done on a white cording that was incorporated into the lace |
and finally...even my bobbin lace is being done in white as i hope to include it in a white cloth and lace piece sometime in the future. bobbin lace is a very slow craft for me as i usually only work on it when i am in lace class on Tuesdays.

our weather here in Austin, TX has been unusual for this time of year but very pleasant. we have even gotten some rain which is desperately needed. the flowers are blooming and there is green everywhere. there was a very interesting segment on CBS Sunday Morning today called 'Flower Power'. it's only 6 minutes long and i think you will find it interesting. even flowers have the sense of sight and touch. the video is
here. have a good week and stay safe.

beautiful work deanna. i too love the pocket with the ruffle...it was very different from the "usual" ones and the ruffle caught my eye. your work is looking so refined. the crochet on the "lace" really adds to the craftsmanship of your piece. as karen is fashion for say, "you couldn't buy" such beautiful work. bobbin lace is on my list of someday to try. still working with water/pipes/slit and dirt so seeing something white really gives me a restful vision to ponder. will watch the video later with my evening tea. thanks for always providing such inspiration. x
beautiful post love the crocheted & bobbin lace!
White goes with everything. Lovely bobbin lace happening there. Enjoy the cooler weather and rain while it last. It's raining here this morning.

Simply GORGEOUS work, deanna ... you are most definitely good friends with *white* ;>]
plenty of white stash and the bobbin lace is lovely.
Hi, Deanna. Your laces are so elegant. I particularly like the cheesecloth one. And I noticed that your whites are very pristine while mine are off white. Karen said she washes her hands a lot to keep it all clean. It gives me eczema just thinking about it!
best, nadia
Oh Deanna you have such a wonderful white stash and I adore the ruffle....White is very addictive isn't it.
Lovely to see someone working bobbin lace again. I learnt it at school but have never managed to get back to it.
Not so far...
You are one clever lady Deanna, I am so impressed with all your work
Karen is such an inspiration isn't she? I am planning something similar to her wrapping cloths but in ivory/beige rather than Karen's usual white.
The piece out of the damaged wedding dress is beautiful. You are so clever doing your own bobbin lace. Now that is a skill :-)
Deanna,
i so love your free motion scrim work!
It's lovely to see your bobbin lace Deanna.I 'm big fan of ruffles...I'll have to watch the videos later, thanks for sharing...
