It was Noro yarn, so the colors changed a lot, but the colors in each skein were so different that a stabilizing contrast resulted. I think it was an approach that Jared Flood of Brooklyn Tweed recommended. Ended up quite nice. Maybe after it is knitted a quick dip in a dye bath will mute the colors a bit.
